Learning to make a single crochet stitch is easy. With this stitch you can make a complete project. You can also pair it with other stitches to make lovely textures.
This is a little taller than the slip stitch. It makes a nice project with no holes or gaps. Once you master the single crochet, you can make so many handmade items from blankets to sweaters to baskets!
When you’re comfortable with the single crochet, try this all single crochet pattern. It looks harder than it is! It’s actually very easy. I used Premier Puzzle Yarn to get the striped look without changing yarn or weaving in ends.
Let’s get started!

Begin by finding the back bump of the chain. Just turn the chain towards you. The back bump will be the horizontal bar behind the chain.
Put your hook through the back bump.

Next, put the yarn over your hook and pull through the back bump.

Now you have 2 loops on your hook. Yarn over.

Finally, pull the yarn through the 2 loops. That’s it! You made a single crochet stitch.
