I’m calling this the “Dashing Stripes” blanket. It looks like it has dashes between the stripes on the front of the blanket. The back has solid stripes that are super fluffy.

I used a neutral color palette. This blanket works well with minimalist, modern farmhouse, mid-century modern or really any aesthetic.
Any color combination would work. Use as many different colors as you like, or keep it to just 2 colors.
I had these colors on hand and I wanted it to coordinate with my White Almond pillow cover.
It took me awhile to come up with exactly the stitch pattern that I was imagining, but this is it! I just love it. The back is equally as pretty as the front, with fluffy stripes.
I used:
Bernat Blanket super bulky 6 weight yarn
Color A: White: less than 1 skein
Color B: Almond: less than 1/2 skein
Color C: Pale Gray (looks a little more brown/taupe to me) less than 1/2 skein
10mm crochet hook
With color A:
Chain any number of chains to make the blanket as long as you like. I chained 90 for a 48” long blanket. Mine is made vertically, but of course, you could make your stripes go horizontally if you like.
The vertical stripes lend themselves to adding fringe at each end if desired. I tend to stay away from fringe and I like the clean lines of the finished edges.
Row 1:
Half double crochet in the 3rd chain and in each chain across.
At the end of the row, begin a half double crochet. Do not pull the yarn through the last 3 loops.
Pick up color B and pull through the 3 loops.
Chain 1. Include the tail in the chain and pull the tail through. You can weave in the ends later.
Chain 1, turn.
Row 2:
Slip stitch in the front loop only of every stitch across.
Chain 1, turn.
Row 3:
Half double crochet in the back loop only of every stitch across.
Chain 1, turn.
Repeat row 2 and 3, changing colors after every row 3 repeat. The color change will begin on the slip stitch rows.
I used color A between colors B and C. The blanket begins and ends with color A.
I have 16 double rows of white, 8 double rows of almond and 7 double rows of pale gray.
My blanket is 48” long x 38“ wide, which is a good size to throw over your legs.

How many skeins did this blanket take?
Hi! Sorry about that. I have that info on my video, but forgot to put it on my pattern. It’s on there now. Less than 1 skein of white, less than 1/2 skein each of almond and pale gray.
