Coordinate these pillows with the chunky, textured 3 color blanket.
Pillow Cover # 1
Materials I used:
A 20” square pillow form
The pillow form should be bigger than the cover so it will look nice and full.
Bernat Softee Chunky Super Bulky 6 weight yarn, Teal One skein is 431 yards, 400 grams, I used about 340 grams.
10mm hook
Darning needle

ch 37 (about 18 1/2”)
Row 1:
Herringbone hdc (hhdc) in the back bump of the second chain from the hook and in every back bump across,
ch 1, turn
Row 2:
Hhdc in the blo of every stitch across until the last stitch,
hhdc in the last full stitch,
ch 1, turn
Repeat row 2 until the pillow cover reaches 42”
Ch1, turn
The last row is the buttonhole row.
Hhdc into the blo of the first 9 stitches. Ch 1, hhdc blo in the next 9 stitches, ch 1, hhdc blo in the next 9 stitches, ch 1, hhdc blo in the next 8 stitches, hhdc in the last full stitch.
Sew the sides together.
Fold with the edges slightly overlapping by and inch or two with the buttonhole edge on the inside (it will be on the outside when you turn it right side out.)
Sew the side seams together with a simple whip stitch, making sure to go through all the stitches on each side of the seam.
Turn right side out. Place a 20” pillow form inside.
Buttons:
Mark where the buttons will match up with the button holes and sew them on. You’ll need to use a darning needle with a smaller eye, so it will be tricky to thread the chunky yarn in. I suggest you leave a long tail, so you only have to thread it once.
Weave in the ends from the button holes (you can use a needle with a larger eye now) and from the seams.
That’s it! You made a chunky textured pillow cover!
