This gorgeous blanket is incredibly soft and cozy! Make it yourself in any size.
After a long, hot summer, there is a chill in the air in the morning and evening. Finally, Fall is here! That’s what inspired my “Finally Fall” blanket. The colors are based on a quilt I pull out every year as soon as the weather cools down and it starts to feel like Fall is in the air! The vibe definitely changes to warm and cozy and this blanket is definitely that!
Bernat Forever Fleece yarn is my absolute favorite, in super bulky, 6 weight. It’s incredibly soft and cushy. A pleasure to crochet with, this blanket works up quickly due to the chunky yarn. It also helps to define the unique textures created by combining stitch patterns.
See my downloadable pdf chart for Standard Blanket Measurements.
I’m making a throw size: Approximately 49” x 62” without a border.
I tried it with a border, but I honestly think this pattern looks better without a border. I did include directions for the border, but it’s not on the video tutorial.

Repeat the pattern with color changes as needed until your blanket is the desired length. End the blanket with the 4 hhdc rows in Color A.
Fasten off with a chain and pull tight, or use an invisible join.
Cut your yarn, weave in all ends and you’re done!
Leave the blanket as is, without a border, or make the border below.
I hope you enjoy this “Finally Fall” blanket!
If you would like to add a border, here is the pattern. I ended up removing the border because I think it looks better without.
Border:
At the end of the last Color A row, ch 1, 3 dc in the corner.
Going down the side, dc at the end of each row, as evenly as you can, but it doesn’t have to be perfect. It should just look fairly even.
At the bottom, 3 dc in the corner.
Dc in each stitch across the bottom (initial first row)
When you reach the corner, 3 dc in the corner,
Dc at the end of each row on the final side.
When you reach the corner, 3 dc in the corner,
Dc in each stitch across.
Join the first dc with a sl st. Ch 2,
Fpdc in the first dc
Bpdc in the next dc
Alternate fpdc and bpdc in each dc around.
When you meet up with the original chain 2, join with a slip stitch and fpdc in the fpdc, bpdc in the bpdc around.
Repeat for as many rows as you like.
You can add a color or 2 from the blanket pattern if you’d like. When it’s as wide as you like, cut the yarn and fasten off.
